Shangarh is accessible by road from Delhi, approximately 549 km away, taking 11–12 hours. The route follows NH44 via Chandigarh, Mandi, and Aut, with the final leg from Aut to Shangarh covering 29 km through Sainj Valley. Buses are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate in Delhi before 6 PM. From Aut, travelers can take a cab or local bus available throughout the day. An alternate route from Delhi via Panipat, Ambala, Chandigarh, Kiratpur, SundarNagar, Mandi, and Aut covers about 490 km, though travel time may vary.
There is no airport at Shangarh. The nearest airport is Kullu–Manali Airport (Bhuntar), located approximately 100 km from Shangarh. From Bhuntar, visitors can hire a taxi to reach Shangarh via Mandi and Aut.
There is no railway station at Shangarh. The nearest railhead is at Jogindernagar, approximately 115 km away, though it is on a narrow-gauge line with limited connectivity. Most travelers prefer reaching via Ambala or Chandigarh railway stations, which have better rail links and road connections to Shangarh.
