Pokhara is well-connected by road to major cities in Nepal. It lies approximately 200 km west of Kathmandu, and the journey by tourist bus or private vehicle takes around 6–8 hours depending on road conditions. The Prithvi Highway links Kathmandu to Pokhara and passes through scenic landscapes, hills, and towns like Dunche and Naubise.
Pokhara has its own domestic airport with regular flights from Kathmandu. The flight duration is approximately 25–30 minutes, making it the fastest way to reach Pokhara. Several airlines operate daily flights, especially in the morning when weather conditions are most favorable.
There is no functional railway service to Pokhara. Travelers are advised to use road or air options.
