Kufri is well-connected by road and lies approximately 28 km from Shimla, making it an accessible hillside destination. The road from Shimla to Kufri is narrow and winding, often covered with snow during winter months, so drivers should exercise caution. Regular Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses and taxis operate from Shimla to Kufri, offering scenic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges and dense forests.
The nearest airport is Shimla Airport (Jubbarhatti), located 50 km away. From the airport, visitors can hire taxis or use HRTC buses to reach Kufri via Shimla.
The nearest railhead is Shimla Railway Station, situated 28 km from Kufri. From there, regular HRTC buses and taxis are available for the onward journey to Kufri.
