The distance from Delhi ranges between 460 km to 520 km, with travel time typically taking 9–12 hours depending on the route and traffic. Most routes follow NH44 via Chandigarh and Mandi, then connecting via NH305. Volvo and private buses are available for budget travelers, while private cabs offer a more comfortable journey.
There is no direct commercial airport in Dharamshala. The nearest operational airport is Kangra Airport (Gaggal Airport), located approximately 15 km from Dharamshala. It offers limited flights, primarily connecting to Delhi. Travelers should check seasonal flight availability.
There is no direct rail connection to Dharamshala. The nearest major railhead is Pathankot Junction, which is well-connected to major Indian cities. From Pathankot, travelers can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Dharamshala, a journey of about 85–90 km.
